Emitter not aligned with text

Support ForumCategory: QuestionsEmitter not aligned with text
David H Mohr asked 6 years ago

I just bought Stardust yesterday, and immediately started trying to follow along with tutorials.  I immediately noticed that when I have an emitter from a text layer that the 2 of them aren’t lined up.  The tutorial shows the origin of the emitter at 960.0, 540.0, and the emitter is exactly centered over it.
My version shows the origin also at 960.0, 540.0, but the emitter is offset to the left,
Any idea how to correct this?
Thanks!
David

Hi David, we need more info to understand whats the origin of the shift , its possibly the comp size .
if you could please send us an email with your setup, and we will have a look at it.

It was indeed the comp size.  I was using a custom comp rather than a preset.  When I switched to a preset comp, the emitter was in the correct position. Interestingly, both the preset and the custom comp had the same dimensions:  1920 x 1080. Thanks for your reply
