How do you use the obstruction layer?

I put a 3d layer in and selected it as the obscuration layer. I suppose I was hoping it would mask particles behind it. Is that what it’s supposed to do? If so, it’s not working. If not, what is it supposed to do and how do I use it?

The Obstruction Layer should do just that, if it doesn’t work, please send us an email so we could have a look at it.
Stardust also has particles with Stencil transfer mode, so one could have some rectangles to hide whatever need to be hidden.
